Prayer Requests

Well, I will start off by saying that Cory's Sister that visited with us 2 weeks ago had surgery on Friday to remove a tumor around her thyroid. We got a report that Kendra did really well with the surgery and other than a litlle post-op nausea, she should be on the road to recovery. Cory called her this morning and got a good report. She is really sore in the throat area and her voice is still somewhat impaired, but she seemed in good spirits. As you feel led, please remember her in her recovery. She will see her Dr. this week for follow-up and will find out the results of the biopsies taken. There is a 20% chance of Cancer, but the Dr. is hopeful that is was a benign tumor.
Cory will be calling his ENT Dr. this week for a 3rd follow up. He is still unable to hear anything other than muffled sound in his left ear. Our next step is outpatient surgery where they will lift up the ear drum and visualize the bones beneath to look for further damage. I know our trust isn't in man, but in the Lord. I have to admit some distrust in this Dr, but I know God is greater and I can place my trust in Him. Please pray with us!!! I know this trial is designed to do us good, even though we are ready to be delivered from it!!! It will be in His timing.
Cory expressed today his sadness about missing the meeting. Although we feel this is the right thing at this time, it doesn't make us missing everyone any easier. Please pray that God will give us peace in our trip and our time with those there. I know we can be an extension of Him. We will really miss the time of fellowship in his people; it is always such a refresher.
No pictures today, my camara battery is dead and Cory and I cannot find the charger...I am so sad. I just cannot stand missing all the good photo ops!!!!

Happy Birthday Granny RUBY!!!! The big 90!!!!

This is it!!

I am hoping this will finally catch everyone up on the adventure in McEnulty's world. I am still not caught up at home...but Praise God, I know I will get there eventually. Sunday the 18th was Cory and my 6 year anniversary. Can you believe we have been together for 11 years..time goes by so fast. I decided to surprise Cory with a trip Saturday night to the Marriott downtown. We has the most delicious steak and lobster dinner and went to see Made of Honor (really cute) and spent the evening out. It was really nice and something we definately will do again. Mom was nice enough to keep Meredith so she was sooo happy to see us Sunday morning at church and God really blessed our serivce. Although Meredith has been doing great sitting through BIG church, she has been out of practice with the family in town. us out of town, and her being at Grammy's on Saturday and Wednesday of this week. I am hoping to get back on track this next week, but we will patiently see.

She continues to be an amazement to me. God is sooooo good. She is saying just about everything you can imagine and it is so cute. Potty training is going well this week. Only 1 accident on Tuesday and today!!! Yeah Meredith!!! This age has to be the most fun!!!

Beach Bunnies

Have I told you that I BELONG ON THE BEACH. We really had a blast at the beach. Since Cory isnt much of a beach person (we are complete opposites) I was worried that we might never see the beach, but this trip was great!!!! Cory and Uncle Mark were able to fish on the pier almost every day we were there and us girls ( and cousin Kedrick) were able to play on the beach, the pool, relax, and shop a little too.
Our condo was right on Folly Beach in Charleston, so we were able to walk to anything we really wanted to do. I swear I should have lost all kinds of weight with how much we walked. I got a call when we were at the beach that my high school friend, Jessie, was in labor on Meredith's Birthday and baby Rowen is here!!! I was so exited, but sad that I missed being there with her on that special day.

Meredith loved the beach the first day we were out there. She rolled around in the sand like a Sport's Illustrated Swimsuit model and jumped in the water. She also loved chasing the seagulls and pigeons around the sand. After a few big waves that knocked her under the water, she decided "no more" water for that day.

We went into Charleston to the Markets and played in the pineapple fountain the kids really enjoyed that. Meredith had so much fun in spite of cutting her 2 yr old molars and being pretty grouchy. You know, the sun takes it out of us all!!!! She had som much fun trying to catch up with Kedrick. She wanted to do everything he was doing...even though he did not want her too. Typical kids right??
Cory and Uncle Mark caught some shark, sting ray, and a few other fish that made their trip fun. Grandma Mc said no one had more fun than her!!! It made me feel great to know everyone was enjoying themselves. After we arrived home on Friday, Cory and Mark went out to Lake Murray to fish. They had a trip planned to Santee to fish on Friday, but unfourtunatley it got cancelled and so they made the best of their fishing time on Friday at Lake Murray. They seemed to have a good time.
We got to see some cool things at the beach...a puffer fish, a jelly fish, and a ton of dolphins jumping in the water. It was really great!!!! I cannot wait to go again.

Cory's family departed bright and early on Saturday morning and we spent the day recovering (sort of) from the hustle and bustle of the week. My house needs some TLC for sure!!!

Where Do I Start???

I guess I should probably start with Saturday 5-10-08...Meredith's Birthday Party. So much has happened in the past week I hope I can remember it all to fill you in. I apologize for not posting sooner, but this is the first time I have had a moment to begin to write. I still have alot of catching up to do, so be patient with me and I hope to get you all caught up. Wow..all I can say about the party is that I must have had some people praying for sure...It was a GREAT day and the kids had a blast. The weather could not have been more perfect...it was hot and the kids enjoyed the slip n' slide and pools. We also had a shark toss game where the kids tossed fish bean bags into the sharks' mouth. The kids did so well lining up and going to the sand box to dig for fish/sealife prizes. WAIT!!!! I haven't told you the best part. When Meredith arrived, she was so excited to see the balloons. My heart just melted watching her look at the balloons in amazement and excitement. When Meredith hit the gate to the back yard the kids were all excited to see her and Morgan grabbed her hand and walked with her into her party!! It was so sweet and cute watching those two. As soon as Meredith saw the water she ran and dived head first into the pool. She was shocked, but made her grand entrance Meredith Style!!!

To say that Meredith's cake was beautiful is an understatement. The cake was amazing, Cory and I were so excited. Tamra is awesome and we were so amazed at her talents. Meredith slept good that day and then Cory's family arrived from Indiana at about 6:30 that evening.
Mother's' Day was too busy to even remember. Cory, Meredith, and Grandma Mc went to church while I stayed back to get ready for Mother's Day dinner at our house. We had a mixture of my family and Cory's (13 in all) for dinner after church. After preparing it all and cleaning it up, I was BEAT!!!! Cory and the fam went out to the Lake to go out on the boat and fish a little. Needless to say, Meredith and I needed some rest time before heading out to the beach on Monday. So, we stayed back while they enjoyed the lake...even though it proved to be quite windy. This was just the beginning of our busy week!!!!

Strawberries and a good time!!!

Tuesday proved to be a busy day for us. We ventured out to pick strawberries. I thought this would not only be a great experience for Meredith, but also good to have some fresh strawberries for her party on Saturday. Boy, they were delicious. It goes without saying that Meredith enjoyed eating them, while I picked them. She really had a blast.
It was a beautiful day. Grammy came over around lunch time and sat with Meredith while she napped so that Cory and I could meet dad at Sam's Club, and 84 dollars later we left. We totally could have spent more, but had to use restraint. Of course, once we arrived home Meredith was awake from her nap and Grammy announced she was leaving to go to the Grocery store. Meredith began to cry and say "groceries grammy, groceries grammy." And I am sure you can figure out what happended next....grammy offered to take her to the grocery store and home for the evening. Cory and I tried to rest, but for some reason our phone was ringin off the hook and neither one of us napped as we wanted to. Drew had invited me to a welcome to SC party for my childhood/lifelong friend Rebekah. We had the MOST delicious meal at Karen's home and really had a great time of fellowship. We definately need to do this often.

Today has been somewhat uneventful. I swear children have a radar for when you need to get something done....they always seem to be more needy on the days when you have an agenda. Thank God today I have really not been stressed to get any one thing done, just doing little things here or there as I am able. Meredith was excited today to fill up her swimming pool for the first time this spring. She immediately had to jump in, fully clothed and prclaim"cold swimming." We changed into her bathing suit and she only played for a bout 15 minutes until she was asking to go inside...something she has never done.
She must have been really cold. Tommorrow she is going over to Hannah's house while I work for the day. I have to say I am usually exicted to go in, but with all that is on my plate right now, this is just a thorn in my side.....but you gotta make money, right? I hope I am not being crazy by thinking that I will be able to get all of my cleaning done on Friday after Lindsey picks Meredith up after school. I will let you know on Friday!!!

Back In Business

So I am back to mommyhood after having a weekend long seminar which was WONDERFUL!!! It was really the calm I needed. Even though it was very therapeutic for me, it was also pretty tiring....long days. For those of you who don't know, I went to a Doula Workshop here in town as my first step towards completing my Doula certification. Being there just confirmed my love and passion for the birthing mom and I truely believe this is my calling. After being with several of my friends in having their own babies, I know this will help me with those I help in the future and it also gave me some insight, and definately some things to pray about in my childbearing future. It was really obvious in a new way that God made us (women) able to carry and birth a baby the way He intended us to and that medical intervention has gone too far. It renewed the burden in me to trust Him for we are "fearfully and wonderfully made."
Cory said he would post on Saturday and Sunday, but I am sure he was much too busy with Meredee to do so. She was a good girl all weekend. Today, we got another great blessing....Uncle Gary is back for a visit through. Meredith really enjoyed him being here...she wouldn't leave him alone. Tommorrow my week has to start, needless to say I had a hard time getting motivated to get going today. I have to say I work better under pressure....part of being type "A" I guess. Dad is taking me to Sam's tommorrow and Friday Auntie Lindsey is suppose to get baby girl and take her for the night so we can set up for her party. Right now, the weather is reported to be 84 degrees with isolated showers. For those of you reading PLEASE PRAY that the rain will hold off for the gathering. I can't even begin to think about having 35 people in my house when it will be cleaned and ready for Cory's family coming in that evening. I know God in in control!!!!

Bye-Bye Storytime, Hello Uncle Gary

So...since I blogged last, alot has changed. My house is pretty clean, for now. Our refridgerator was fixed as of 11 last night. We got a realy nice surprise on Wen. that Uncle Gary was stopping through to say hello. The whole way home from church Meredith and I talked about Gary and his big truck. Once we got home she started to cry because she wanted to see the big truck. Gary came out, she went right to him, and they went to the big semi. Meredith loved it. Gary said she jumped on the bed and when he asked her if she wanted to go see mommy and daddy she replied "no." How funny. They had lots of fun and she was sad to go to bed. We definately need to visit more!! We are really very blessed to have such a great network of friends that love us and Meredith like their own!!
On Thursday we had our usual story time, but it was rather sad because this was our last session before summer break, and next school year Meredith will be in the 2 year old group. I hope our schedules will allow for us to continue to go. I have really been able to see more of Meredith's personality when she is around a group of kids like that. I have picked up that she is a leader and the other kids are really drawn to watcing her and following her lead. She is not afraid of adults or other children. Not usually shy at all!!! It is really neat to see her growing up into a big human being!!! Last night we had dinner company and that was a good time for all. Meredith had a little trouble settling down and getting to sleep, but the Lord helped us!!! So for today, the agenda is to continue to maintain the house and Drew is coming to help work on the finishing touches of the Shark game for Meredith's party!!! Horray...light at the end of the tunnel!!
