Meredith's First Fish

Look at that McEnulty lip...she is really concentrating!! I was excited to get home tonight and hear about Cory and Meredith's fishing adventure. Mom will get a kick out of this as she always comments on Cory's wild adventures. Cory announced to me that he was going to take Meredith fishing when I went to teach a Breastfeeding class tonight. When I got home he had taken some pictures of the adventure that I just had to share. Unfortunately, the video is sideways....but still the most precious thing. She caught her first fish with her Dora fishing pole we go ther for her birthday. Cory said she called it a shark!! How cute. He also said she did not want to throw it back and wanted to keep it, but was okay once it returned to the water. She was so cute reeling in and casting out. Almost everytime Cory and Meredith are outside, she asks to play with her fishing pole and they cast and reel in. It is really cute. What a good daddy Cory is !!!

We also went to the park today. I got some cute shots of her playing. She is into her swinging right now. She loves it and ask to do it fequently and sings while swinging as well. Just had to get these pictures out as they were so cute.

For church on Sunday Meredith had a case of her Movie Star hair. Ashley had french braided it the night before and when we took it down it was soooo pretty, just bigger than the norm!!!<

Life in Full swing

Hello to all....like is busy as I am sure it is with you all as well. I have been working 2 or 3 days a week to try and help out around here. I am enjoying getting out a little for sure. Cory has been busy working at our Church's property helping out with the new building every day of this week. Meredith is her usual happy self. She continues to amaze me with her speech and questions these days. Almost everything I do is a "what doin' momma or what's that?" We can really carry on a conversation too. Today she kept running into the den, getting a toy, bringing it to me and then saying "I need something else, " and repeating this over and over. It was really cute. She also told me today that she was going to lay down some papers she was carrying "beside" her.....and even used it in the correct context. It is really cute to see her mind going and growing.

Today she had a melt down when I dropped her off for school. The past 2 weeks Cory dropped her off, but today because momma did, she decided to break out all the tears. She even ended up keeping her night night with her. I had to leave her crying hard after I explained that I would be back at lunch time. When I peeked in later I saw her teacher, Ms. Renay, rocking her with her night night. When I came to get her, she was happy and I was informed that she did great all day. I have a preschoolers meeting in the morning where I will have to leave her again, but this time at a new place with new people and new helpers. I am not looking forward to that departure. I pray that she will be okay. I am hoping maybe practice makes perfect and she will see how much fun it will be.

We made it through the last 2 weeks still smiling, Praise God...He is who He says He is...GOOD!!! We had 2 great baby showers for Aunt Lindsey and a good Drs appointment saying all is looking good for her baby. Only 3-5 weeks to go. She is shooting for around the 13th of October...I cannot believe she will be here that soon. I was excited this week and put up the Pack n Play and got out a kick n crawl play mat. I also got out Meredith's changing pad and I have to say it was fun and super exciting. I can wait to just love on her. I hope I can get my fair share of Avery lovin' through all the other exicted family members. I will Try to not be a hog....notice I said try.
I had a great opportunity fall into my lap this week and I would like to share it for others to know and be praying with me. I was approached by my boss to take on a new shift at work perminently with our lactation department. It was a hard thing for me to turn down, as this is a real DREAM of mine to step into this area more, but in this season of my life, Meredith is too young for me to be gone the hours it requires (5-9pm every night of the week). In our discussion about me not being able to do this at this time in my life, my boss offered to send me to a 40 hour class that is required in order for me to sit for the Lactation Consultant Boards. This is a board exam, just like when you become a nurse. In order to sit for the boards you have to have met certain criteria. I have alreay fulfilled the one on one contact hours dealing with patient care working with the Lactation Department over the past few years. The only thing I had left was to attend this particular class.....VERY expensive...Hundreds of dollars. This has been a dream of mine, but now my boss has offered me the opportunity to do this through my job. PRAISE HIS NAME!! Can you tell I am excited about the opportunity??? Cory and I haven't decided if this is feasible for us at this time, but I am thankful to have the opportunity. God will open doors as HE sees fit and I know He is in control. Whenever I fret over things I desire, I can find comfort in knowing that God is not ringing His hands over my situation, He already knows and has it figured out, so why should I worry? God help me to remember this next week too. He is also always faithful to bring this to mind when I need to hear it most...sometimes using lips of clay. Thank you God! I am sorry to be long winded about this, but I desire for others to know and understand what I am going through at this time. I will let you know as things transpire.....the biggest issue is finding help with our sweet girl for the week I would be gone in February for the class. I know God will provide as we seek Him and His will.

Good luck to our Gamecocks on Saturday...Go COCKS!!!!

School days!!

Again, I feel the need to apologize for the lapse in time from my last post. Things, as am I sure you all know, are just crazy busy. I cannot even remember all of the events since my last post. I hope to hit the highlights. Meredith did extremely well with her first day of school. I hope that all the hyping up we did helped. She got a tiny bit teary when we pottyed at the school before I left. Her friend from church, Morgan, is right down the hall and she told her hello. Ms. Renee took her to go play kitchen and she gave me a kiss bye. Cory went to pick her up and she was all sweaty and tired, but happy. She got a good report card from the day as well. Cory was on call last week and I worked a couple of days as well. We celebrated Papa Steve's big 56 on Sunday. I celebrated from my bed at home and Cory and Meredee went to mom and dads and ate a great lunch and dessert. I came down with some hay fever/sinus thing that had me miserable for 2 days and for the last 3 I have been feeling alright, just annoyed by the nasty nose!! Praise God anyways!!

I had the invitation to join a women's bible study on Tuesdays, but I was not able to join this go 'round. Instead, I am reading up on Beth Moore, the facilitators, books and studies...BOY has this been a blessing. I am about to finish Praying God's Word and I have started Get Out Of That Pit. Both of which have really been a huge blessing and I would totally recommend to anyone who want to get into God's Word more. It has been an encouragement to be and really sparked my flame for Christ and His word. I pray that I will continue to be excited to learn more. These have both been easy reads too.

Back to school tommorrow and work for me too. I will keep you posted!

ps--this pic is from our visit with Baby Riley 2 weeks ago. Meredith talks about her everyday. She asked her to "sit in her lap" here.
